RGT Rating
The Cadenza II is a fascinating "New Meta" evolution. While the original was a warm, resin-clad hug for your ears, the II is a high-tech tool that prioritizes precision and physical airflow control. It’s less "v-shaped" and more "disciplined-fun."
Imaging and Soundstage: 4/5
The inclusion of KARS 2.0 (a physical labyrinth tubing system) does wonders for the stage. It feels wider and cleaner than the original. In gaming, this translates to better separation; you can actually hear the "space" between a reload sound and a distant footstep. It only loses a point because, like most single DDs at $50, the depth is still more "linear" than truly "holographic."
Sound Signature: Warm-Neutral / Sub-woofer Bass
The tuning has shifted. The sub-bass is more surgical—it hits hard (8dB boost) but cuts off strictly at 200Hz, meaning zero mud in the lower mids.
- Bass: Tighter and faster than the OG thanks to the titanium coating.
- Mids: Slightly more forward and "lush." Vocals have more "soul" and presence.
- Treble: Smoother and safer. It’s been "de-peaked" to avoid the occasional shrillness some found in the original, making it a marathon-session king.
Comfort: 4/5
The shift from 3D resin to the new polycarbonate shell makes these incredibly light (approx. 4.4g per side). The velvet-like finish feels premium against the skin, and the pressure-relief vents are more effective now, eliminating that "suction" feeling during long sessions..
Versatility: 4/5
It’s a master of "all-rounder" status. However, it loses a half-point for competitive FPS purists who might want a more "piercing" treble to highlight footsteps. This is tuned for musicality and immersion rather than being a clinical "cheat code."
Potential Drawbacks:
The impedance is lower (18Ω), making it easy to drive, but the titanium driver is surprisingly revealing of bad sources. If your PC's onboard audio is noisy, you'll hear it. Also, the lack of a carrying case in the box is a bit of a sting for a "Version II" release.
